This policy explains what personal information Business Webpage Ltd collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ring us on 01603 898148 and ask.
Who we are
Business Webpage Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 04954466. Our registered office is 1 St Catherines Road, Thorpe St Andrew, Norfolk, NR7 0XR, and we trade from Unit 9 Shepherds Business Park, Lenwade, Norwich NR9 5SG.
You can reach us about anything in this policy by email at info@businesswebpage.co.uk, by telephone on 01603 898148, or by post at the Lenwade address above.
What we collect, and why
When you send us an enquiry. The contact form asks for your name and email address, and optionally your telephone number, your business name, what you need and a message. We use those details to answer your enquiry and, if it becomes a job, to carry out the work and invoice for it. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who ask us to, and, once you become a client, performance of our contract with you.
When you ask for our emails. If you tick the newsletter box, we pass your email address to our email provider so we can send you the occasional email about websites and search. The lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
When you accept analytics cookies. If, and only if, you press Accept on the cookie banner, Google Analytics records how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where in the world the visitor is, and what kind of device they are on. The lawful basis is your consent. If you press Reject, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is recorded.
In our server logs. Our hosting keeps standard web server logs, including the IP address a request came from, for security and to diagnose faults. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and secure.
We do not collect special category data through this website, and we do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing. We do use a small number of suppliers who process information on our behalf:
- our hosting provider, which stores the website and the email we receive;
- our email provider, for the newsletter, if you asked for it;
- Google, for Analytics, if you accepted analytics cookies.
Some of those suppliers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards in UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become work are kept for two years, so we can pick up the thread if you come back to us. Records relating to work we have carried out are kept for seven years after the end of the relationship, because our accountant and HMRC need them. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short period, typically no more than three months.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted where we no longer need it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these, email info@businesswebpage.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all until you choose to accept them. Our cookie policy explains what each cookie does and how to change your mind.
