The brief
A holiday let website has one job before all others: to turn a guest who is comparing a dozen places into an enquiry or a booking. Norfolk Rural Cottages has six properties of different sizes, from a barn for two to a house for ten, all within walking distance of each other. The site had to show each one properly and still feel like one place.
It also had to answer the questions guests ask before booking: where exactly is it, what is near it, and can we stay on the dates we want.
Our approach
Each property has its own page, with photographs that lead and the number it sleeps stated up front, so a couple and a family of ten can each find the right one quickly. A slider on the home page sets the scene, and a map places the properties in the village and shows how far the coast is.
Availability is one click from every page, through a check-availability button that goes to the booking page. Booking itself runs on Bookalet, a specialist third-party system embedded in the site, so availability and payments are handled by a tool built for the job. The accreditations the business has earned sit on the home page, where a guest looking for reassurance will see them.
