Website design for an upholstery and costume studio: Make & Repair Studio, Norwich

We designed and built the website for Make & Repair Studio, a Norwich upholstery, costume and alterations studio run by Tsubi Du, with a gallery for each craft and a free, no-obligation quotation on offer.

The brief

Tsubi Du spent thirty years in theatrical design before retraining in upholstery. A business like that is sold on the work itself: people need to see what a chair looks like before and after, or how a costume was made, before they will hand it over.

The site also had to be honest about how the studio works, by appointment and with quotations offered free.

Our approach

The homepage opens on fabric and tools, with interiors, upholstery and costumes named on the image, and a gold and white logo set against black. Each craft has its own gallery, covering upholstery, costumes, alterations and furniture for sale, so a visitor goes straight to what they need.

A short bio explains the thirty years of materials knowledge behind the work, a client testimonial adds an outside voice, and the contact details are simple: a phone number and an email address, with a free quotation as the only call to action. It is built with Elementor on WordPress.

“Thirty years of materials knowledge.”
